Abstract

Refractive lensectomy followed by laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) was performed in both eyes of a severely myopic patient. An uncorrected visual acuity of 20/20 was achieved in the right eye with a manifest refraction of plano –0.25 × 65. Intentional monovision correction of the left eye left a manifest refraction of –0.75 diopter. Best corrected visual acuity improved by 1 Snellen line to 20/20 in both eyes. Follow-up evaluation will be required to assess the long-term refractive stability and the incidence of retinal detachment after combined refractive lensectomy and LASIK.
