In the article “Late Postoperative Opacification of Memory Lens Hydrophilic Acrylic Intraocular Lenses: Case Series and Review” (J Cataract Refract Surg 2004; 30:115–122), the analysis reported in Tables 1, 2, and 3 was electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA) not EDX. The second sentence in the Results should say, “The ESCA revealed a high concentration of phosphate and silicone but no presence of calcium or phosphate.” The first sentence of the second paragraph should say, “Tables 1 and 2 summarize the ESCA data from the explanted IOL.”
