In the correspondence article “Indocyanine Green-Emitted Fluorescence as an Aid to Anterior Capsule Visualization” (J Cataract Refract Surg 2005; 31:1454–1455), the third sentence is incorrect. Both indocyanine green and trypan blue have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, but only trypan blue has been approved for staining the anterior capsule during cataract surgery.
